Revision Frontal Sinusotomy After Middle Turbinate Lateralization
Indications:
- Frontal sinusitis following ESS
- Lateralized middle turbinate
Highlights:
- Lysis of adhesions and mobilization/resection of middle turbinate
- Removal of Agger nasi cells
- Probing and enlargement of frontal ostium
- Optional placement of Silastic stent
Keep in Mind/Things to Remember:
- It has been often found and also proved that frontal sinus stents are not useful to improve long term patency.
- If this technique fails, a formal frontal sinus drill out (modified Lothrop) may be necessary.
