Inverted Papilloma of Sphenoid Sinus

Indications:

  • Tumor localized to the sphenoid sinus
  • Papilloma with inverted features on histopathology

Highlights:

  • Large sphenoidotomy
  • Tumor debulked to identify site of attachment
  • Clear tumor margins verified by frozen section
  • Underlying bone/cartilage may need to be removed which can facilitate in obtaining deep margins

Keep in Mind/Things to Remember:

  • Endoscopic follow-up important to evaluate for any kind of recurrence.
