Inferior Turbinate Submucosal Resection

Indications:

• Persistent hypertrophy of inferior turbinate mucosa

Highlights:

• Stab incision at anterior aspect of the turbinate
• Mucosa elevated off the turbinate bone
• Submucosa removed with microdebrider leaving overlying thin mucosal layer intact

Keep in Mind/Things to Remember:

• Can be combined with out-fracture of turbinate bone
