• Visualization of the internal common punctum ensures an adequate opening into lacrimal sac has been made
• A silastic stent is placed

Keep in Mind:

• Important to remove bone anterior to the maxillary line to ensure that the entire medial sac is opened
• The top of lacrimal sac often extends above the attachment of the middle turbinate to the lateral nasal wall
