Nasolacrimal Duct Stone Removal
Indications:
- Epiphora
- Dacryocystitis
Highlights:
- Inferior turbinate can be gently medialized to allow entry into inferior meatus.
- Stenosis is incised and stone is removed.
Keep in Mind/Things to Remember:
- Short-term stenting of duct may be warranted until healing occurs.
- If region of stenosis is not accessible at inferior meatus then a standard DCR may be done.
- If a stone is suspected than imaging will often show location (CT or sialogram).
