Inverted Papilloma of Septum Part 1 of 2

Indications:

  • Tumor localized to the sinonasal tract
  • Papilloma with inverted features on histopathology

Highlights:

  • Tumor debulked to identify site of attachment
  • Clear tumor margins are verified by frozen section
  • Underlying bone/cartilage may need to be removed to obtain deep margins

Keep in Mind/Things to Remember:

  • Most common site of attachment is lateral nasal wall
  • Endoscopic follow-up is important in order to evaluate for any kind of recurrence.
