Distal Nasolacrimal Duct Obstruction
Indications:
- Epiphora
- Dacryocystitis
Highlights:
- Inferior turbinate can be gently medialized to allow entry into inferior meatus
- Nasolacrimal duct drains into inferior meatus via Hasner’s valve
Keep in Mind/Things to Remember:
- Short-term stenting of duct may be warranted until healing occurs.
- If region of stenosis is not accessible at inferior meatus then a standard DCR may be done.
